MOVING TO NEW BLOG SPACE

Sadly, I've run out of space on this blog for carrying photographs, so am starting another blog which will follow on from this one!

ZERO TOLERANCE .... update

Tonight things have changed!  Tightened up.

The soldiers told Michael as he passed through the cordon that from tonight on there is ZERO tolerance for anything. No favours. No exceptions.

From 6.30pm we are no longer to step outside our gates onto the footpath or road. Or be arrested (without MIGHTY good reasons!)

There are to be no more photographs! Ok, so they cannot make it illegal I am thinking - but they are going to stop people taking them, as apparently there have been so many complaints about the 'sticky beaks' everywhere and it seems the people who live in and own buildings etc have spoken out against it!

So I look back over our past two days and am very thankful for the special bike ride which Mike and I had (taking lots of photos) and my bike ride down Fitz Ave yesterday more photos - and no longer now able to do these things!

Dad and Marilyn are staying currently, and Marilyn is off up to her relatives up north for probably two weeks, leaving Thursday.   Dad will stay here until his power and water have come back on.

300,000 masks are being given out and everyone walking or biking are encouraged to use them.
The dust, from the drying liquifaction and the 90 kph hot winds,  is now so bad that anyone with any leaning towards allergies or asthma etc are in fact becoming ill!

Work is quiet for Mike, so we sure hope that improves.
My brother Quintin's Watch Kiosk in Riccarton Mall is also quiet, and only half the shops in the Mall are open. Many of you will know Riccarton Mall well.

I am grateful again for Lois and Jeanette and all they are doing, and have done for us. Lois took home 6 loads of our laundry last night and returned them washed, dried and folded beautifully this afternoon!  Thank's SO MUCH, Lois and Jeanette.

Love and continued thanks to all, for your care, concern and prayers,
Caroline and Mike
