CHRISTCHURCH 'CLOSED' DUE TO SNOW!!

If it isn't earthquakes, then it is snow!

Last night around 11pm onwards, we became aware of an amazing thing - it was snowing but the sky everywhere was like daylight!  It was quite surreal, snow falling, close to midnight and daylight.
We don't get snow very often, and now in the afternoon of the next day, it is falling even more heavily.

Poly Tech, hospitals etc are closed, the streets are full of stuck cars. We are all being advised to STAY HOME.

Mike and the boys went out cruising the streets for a look around:)
He ended up towing lots of stranded cars and taxi's, so guess it's all in a day's work, eh!

Some videos first!

Mike at the back of Denny's car-park found a spot
to do some wheelies in the snow!
(You can click and make it full screen)

Another one of Mike - tighter this time!

Back home, Guy and Heath got out the scooters...
they didn't get far!

Mike is uploading these to Youtube so you will see them far more clearly there - will put the links there shortly!

Denny's Car Park... but good ole Denny's was open for business as usual!
Mike and the boys had breakfast there!

Back inside, my study table at the back of the lounge!
Cosy fire going... best place to be today!

It has now begun to rain - so I suppose the snow excitement is going to turn to slush in the next few hours!
Oh well, we had our fun - and a day off:)

My dear friend...
staying inside warm and cozy by the fire sounds like heaven to me! Love the pictures of snow. Of course not having lived with any of that in a long time makes one "think" they'd like to experience it again! You've a lovely home and family...you are quite blessed!
Love,
Robin

Thanks so much, Robin. Florida would be so awesome not experiencing the highs and lows! Snow is exciting but so impractical! Yes, we are blessed and it is good to be reminded:) xx
