AKAROA FOR A DAY

Mike, Heath and I went to Akaroa for a day! Good driving practice for Heath; good Father-son time with them both in the front seat; good thinking and peace time in the back seat for me! Maybe it is time for Mama to be put in the back for a while!!

We took our time driving there and back, and did loads of exploring both ways. Had lunch at Le Hotel Restaurant, and had a lovely seat overlooking the sea. People walking right past the table a few inches away– kinda cute!

Okuti Valley Camping Ground - amazing place - LOVE to go and stay there!

Mud slides for the 'kids'...

In the bush, old comfy sofas to sit on (altho wet at the time from earlier rain!)

Little gorgeous tables and chairs in peaceful and private(ish) places dotted everywhere...

Then onto another retreat type place which you could stay at in Okuti Valley, very very very very 'eco' minded.... and as we were leaving, we discovered it was the very property that Marianne's parents moved into when they first came to NZ from Holland!

As you entered the place, there was a most gorgeous stream and it had a bright yellow painted dinghy there... not sure I captured how picturesque it was!

Driving home around the windy Port Levy road..... waterfalls coming down the sides of the rocky hills onto the road, and very deep falls right down to the river FAR below on the other side of the road... interesting!

- I found you a Principles position for when you finally decide to come back here and live!   A tiny school, SO cute, and as Sarah wants to live by the sea, it is only a stones throw!   Does it seriously get any better than this?????

and on down to the sea... a few meters down the road!
