Mike and I went to Duvauchelle for a weekend... pulled up anchor and off we went!
21st APRIL
When we go away, we generally arrive in the dark, and it is always really interesting to wake up in the morning, draw back the curtains and discover our new scenery!
We were given a gorgeous site which faced down to the Bay.
First stop, was the Akaroa Harvest Festival
which was really a glorified Farmers Market.
Very creative products on sale, under the beautiful blue skies in the Domain...
You can observe Mike.
Cafe in one of the 'rooms' of the garden of a beautiful old French villa.
Akaroa Heritage Park
Off the beaten track, with loads of native plants and with the most glorious views you ever did see!
This plant attracts the Monarchs...
So, you sit at the top, and look - in every direction are the views!
I advise ALL visitors to Christchurch, to come to this special piece of Earth!
We had dinner at the Hilltop Tavern on Saturday evening.
Now back at the caravan, ready to leave for home.
Short but very sweet weekend break.
