Have you ever been to Tarras Village?
It's a gorgeous tiny settlement between Wanaka and Cromwell which has developed from a little country tearooms and garage to a really pretty, artistic "Village".
There is a beautiful antiques/fabrics shop there called Mrs Robinson's.
I called in and spent some time with Mrs Robinson and together we chose some fabric and designed a garment and I came home and made it.
It was a bit of an experiment but here it is!

GUY'S HOLIDAY
Guy went up north separately from the others to Masterton convention, and afterward shared part of Matthew and Sharon's holiday up north ~ Hannah's parents!
All the following photos (mostly Guy and Hannah) are taken by Sharon of their holiday. At one stage they met up with Mike, Heath and Kent for a day!

No holiday is complete without a trip to a Transport Museum !! At Motat in Auckland

We heard this awesome sound of a GM 8v92 screaming (Nicely) and Nek minute it
appeared over the bank. Hmmm, wonder how I could get that sound as a ring tone ;-)
We went up to Treaty House at Waitangi

You can see vehicles in the distance - it is actually about 90 km long

The store still sells all sorts of delightful (new) old things like soaps and wooden pegs etc
Another part of the store was 50's stuff
We went to these incredible old hot pools
They were SO ramshackle looked like nothing had been done to them since the 50's

True MUD pools - you actually came out dirty (but healthy)
One pool was apparently 53.5 degrees but I think the thermometer they used was as old as
the pools because no one was even game to dip their toe in it!
We went to see Tane Mahuta, the largest known living Kauri

Stayed a night in the Northern Wairoa Hotel at Dargaville
http://nwhotel.co.nz/ it was a classic New Zealand Pub - quite an experience.
Wonder how teachers would react to this today??
