Deeanne Hobbs
NZ Artist
Exhibition: Terrace Downs
(Buffet dinner)
Mike and Gareth
The view from the restaurant
I took photos of her paintings;
not generally 'allowed' but they let me seeing
it was only for my blog!
This last one is called "Caroline's Dress"
named after yours truly!
(The paintings were named after various people).
The women's restrooms were absolutely out of this world. ~
Opulent to the extreme!
The following photos don't give it enough credit.
It was huge with many rooms and spaces!
The Exhibition was very successful.

Deeanne and Brieanna stayed for a few days.
It was Waitangi weekend.
Heath and Brieanna ~ well we can't decide if they are best friends or terrible enemies as Heath spends 95% of their time together teasing her and she only has one reaction ~ a good loud screech!
Brieanna coined the word for their erratic friendship ~
"frienemies"
Deeanne and I called them
"The Gruesome Twosome"
and as we all did things together all weekend, we named ourselves
"The Awesome Foursome".
"Heath, please let Brieanna sit on the back for a photo"
(Neither keen!
But grudgingly....)
That's better!
Getting into the spirit!
The hennies are not allowed into the house..
yeah right!
But they got their revenge!
Not long after Deeanne had a big hug and cuddle with Milly/Molly, she was crawling all over with mites!
Whoops!
Had to wash all the clothes
and have a very thorough shower!!
So, Deeanne bought Heath a gift from an op shop~
a pair of glasses!
Here he is receiving them!
Brieanna tried them on.....
wearing her new Holly Hobbie Dress!
Top button done up seems to match the glasses era..
So it was a fun, laughing, screeching weekend!

Waitangi Day
Dad wanted to try his boat out (distributor!)
so we went with he and Marilyn, and Helene and Andrew to Selwyn Huts, Lake Ellesmere for a picnic lunch and some boating.
Sorry, no photos of us ladies!
****************************
Kent had 90 mins in Christchurch airport as he was flying to Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok for 3 weeks to
visit Brock and Sarah!
Myles popped out too!
Mall for tea Friday night....
Guy and Heath off for haircuts, so these are "befores"!
The "Big Move" has begun!
EQC have announced that the builders are beginning the huge repairs/repaints etc from all the earthquake damage to our house. It will take anywhere between 6 weeks and 3 months. So we have to move out. We are moving into our caravan, and the boys into tents on the back lawn. It will be an 'experience"!!!
Today, Paul and his sons came in and helped move things so the hennies had a proper new area to stay in (keeping them out of the builders way with open doors and gates etc!).
It was most amusing, as did you know hennies can get into moods?? Well, they were highly put out at being moved from their beloved huge unrestricted garden to a much smaller area and whats more, a high fence!
They snobbed us all day, and wouldn't even 'took took' - their quietness was deafening!
Mont found a cicada but while I was taking the pic,
it flew away!

CLARK GATHERING
Margaret was over for a visit, 6 years since her last.
All the Clarke clan (of that generation) had a potluck and a few of us were also invited to visit Margaret. It was lovely!
Following are loads of pics of everyone and what a job getting everyone in order!!...
All the ladies (not just Clarkes)
A few admirers....
Getting the ladies organised was quite something!!
Lovin' Hilary!
About right at last!
Because the ladies were now doing the organising, it was a very quick and easy task to get the men in line!
And now the reason for the season ~
The Clarke clan!
(Note to Margaret: I have loads more of the Clarke clan, but only put these two on ~ if you want to look at any more I can send them! But am cure others will have better ones as SO many were being taken that evening!!)
